Since 1984 I have been programming computers starting with my ZX81 then on to the ZX Spectrum, Atari ST and eventually onto the PC in 1993.
I’ve never looked back and over 30 years have learned a range of programming languages and specialise in Rapid Application Development (RAD) environments.
A lot of projects these days require mostly web based applications or apps that can be installed on a virtual server and then accessed by multiple users.
There are many ways to provide the solution to a problem and this is one area I love to get involved in – problem solving.
In 2000 I started programming a software system called DARP which stands for Digital Audio Radio Playout. The whole idea behind this was to provide some sort of digital music library for a radio station to store all forms of audio on a PC, share it, network it and ultimately automate the playing of it.
DARP has gone on to be a very successful system and is used by many stations today as DARP NG and is available to lease from RadioStationSolutions.com
In 2006 I undertook project work for a security company that was developing electronic security seals for duty free carts and canisters. This project required many applications from PDA software to download and manage the seal audit trails, desktop software to manage and detail reports and software to test and program the seals.
It was from this work that I was approached to do work for another security company and have developed another suite of applications to enhance their products which continues today.
I also provide spray on programming for attraction based ticket system WebTicketManager and am heavily involved in the design and graphical work within the system and have been with the project since day one.
